Construction work on the section in question will consist of the construction of a double railway track along three kilometres, running underground in its entirety. The estimated budget of the construction work will be around 126 million Euro and has a lead time of 40 months. During the construction work, the current railway track will remain in operation so that the service 'is not going to be interrupted at any time'.
This project will provide the San Sebastian neighbourhood of Altza with a railway station, transport that is presently lacking. In this way, it will give a direct service to a population of 21,500 inhabitants.
The terminal, which seeks the best accessibility and to attract the greatest number of passengers possible, will be located next to Paseo de Felix Iranzo avenue and will have two passageways and two entrances that will lead onto the avenue Paseo de Larratxo and the Arriberri district. It will be located at a depth of 25 metres.
