Development of the project in general

Representatives from the Basque Parliament's transport commission inspect the building work on the Gipuzkoa branch of the Basque Y

Members of the Basque Parliament's Commission for Housing, Public Works and Transport, together with Iñaki Arriola and executives from ETS, have inspected various sections of the future high-speed train network. ETS is a public body that is in charge of work being carried out on the Basque Y's Gipuzkoa branch.

After receiving an explanation from the technicians responsible for the execution of the building work, the delegation travelled along the two sections which have already been finished (Ordizia - Itsasondo and Beasain east), as well as Beasain west, where they were able to see how work was progressing on the Itola viaduct (600 metres).

Later, they made their way to Bergara in order to observe the tunnel digging on the Bergara - Antzuola section. They rounded off their visit with a champagne toast with the workers, who deserve huge credit for making this accomplishment possible.

Building work is currently in progress on the following sections: Bergara - Bergara, Bergara - Antzuola, Antzuola - Ezkio Itsaso West, Antzuola - Ezkio Itsaso East, Ezkio Itsaso, Ezkio - Beasain, Beasain West, Legorreta, Tolosa, Tolosa - Hernialde, Zizurkil - Andoain, Andoain - Urnieta, Urnieta - Hernani and Hernani - Astigarraga. The Beasain east and Ordizia - Itsasondo sections have already been finished and work is set to get underway soon on the Hernialde - Zizurkil section, for which the tender was recently awarded.
